Medical 3D printing FAQ

What medical parts does TAKT 3D print?+
Device enclosures, diagnostic-equipment housings, sensor brackets, bench-top test fixtures, training aids, and anatomical reference models for engineering and visualization. We serve medtech engineering and R&D teams with non-patient-contacting hardware.
Is TAKT 3D a registered medical device manufacturer?+
No. We are not FDA-registered and do not produce patient-contacting devices, surgical guides, sterilizable implants, or Class II medical devices. We support medtech engineering teams with device enclosures, prototypes, and reference models.
Which materials do you use for medtech prototypes?+
PETG for transparent housings and early prototypes, ABS for impact-resistant enclosures, Nylon-CF for stiff structural brackets, PH-HT when elevated temperature resistance matters, and TPU for soft-durometer bumpers and gaskets. Material selection is part of DFM review on every quote.
How fast can you turn around a medtech R&D prototype?+
Standard turnaround is 5–7 business days. Expedited (3 days) is +30% (minimum $35); rush (1–2 days) is +60% (minimum $60). On rush, small enclosures and brackets can ship inside 48 hours from our San Diego shop.
