Terms of Service

Last updated October 10, 2026

These terms apply when you use takt3d.com or order 3D printing, CAD design, 3D scanning or consultation from Zero Three Seven Designs LLC d/b/a TAKT 3D (“TAKT 3D,” “we”). By placing an order or paying a quote or invoice, you agree to them. If you have a signed agreement or purchase order terms we have accepted in writing, those control where they differ. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

Quotes and prices

  • The instant price on our quote page is computed from your file and includes parts, setup, turnaround, shipping and California sales tax where it applies. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay. The minimum order is $30 before tax.
  • Quotes we prepare by hand are valid for 30 days unless the quote says otherwise. Prices are rechecked at checkout; if they changed, you see the new total before you pay.
  • If we find an obvious error in a price or in what a file can produce before we start, we will tell you and you can accept the corrected quote or cancel for a full refund.

Payment and sales tax

  • Self-serve orders are paid in full at checkout by card, or by bank transfer (ACH) for approved business accounts. Accounts with payment terms pay invoices by the due date on the invoice. An ACH order is placed once the payment clears.
  • CAD design, 3D scanning and consultation are billed hourly and paid 100% up front as a retainer. Retainers are non-refundable and applied in full to work performed.
  • We charge California sales tax unless the order ships by carrier outside California or you have a valid exemption certificate on file. To apply an exemption at checkout, sign in to your customer account first; tax charged on a guest order can be refunded once we confirm the exemption.

Your files and designs

  • You keep all rights to the files and designs you send us. You give us permission to use them only to quote, make, inspect, reprint and reorder your parts. We never share, sell or publish your files, and we don’t show your parts, name or logo publicly without your written permission.
  • You confirm you have the right to have the parts made. We may decline any job — including parts we believe infringe someone else’s rights, imitate another company’s trademarks, or are unlawful (for example regulated weapon parts).
  • You are responsible for your design being suitable for its use. We print what your file describes; we review files for printability, not for engineering fitness, unless we agree to that in writing.

Production and lead times

  • Lead times are business days (Monday–Friday, excluding US federal holidays) from payment or file approval, and are estimates. Expedited and rush orders get priority in our queue; they are not a guaranteed delivery date, because a print can fail and need to be run again.
  • For production runs we may print a first article for your approval before running the rest.
  • Once production has started we can’t cancel an order. Before then, contact us and we will cancel and refund it in full.

Quality, tolerances and reprints

  • Parts are made by FDM (material extrusion). They show layer lines, and strength depends on print orientation. Typical dimensional accuracy is ±0.2 mm; tighter tolerances apply only when we agree to them in writing for a specific part.
  • Every part is checked against your file before it ships, and parts that fail that check are reprinted. If a part doesn’t match your file or order because of our error, tell us within 14 days of delivery or pickup and we will reprint it or refund that part, at our choice.
  • We are not certified to AS9100, ISO 13485 or similar standards, and our parts are not medical devices. Don’t use them where failure could cause injury unless you have qualified them for that use.

Shipping and pickup

  • We ship by UPS to US addresses, or you can pick up at our San Diego shop by arrangement. Risk of loss passes to you when we hand the parts to the carrier or to you. If a shipment is lost or damaged, we will help you file the carrier claim.

CAD design, scanning and consultation

  • We work from the information you give us; time spent is billed against your retainer at the rate you were quoted.
  • Once you have paid in full, you own the final design files we deliver for your project. We may keep copies for our records and to support reorders, and we keep our general know-how, tools and methods.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any order or project is limited to the amount you paid us for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits, downtime, or the cost of other parts or assemblies. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under law that can’t be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by California law. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts in San Diego County, California.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. The terms in effect when you place an order apply to that order.
